Emma Sylvie

To begin I must thank Ethan for his patience in writing down my words and turning them into something readable.

I am called Wandering Spirit. I am old. I am set in my ways.

When I first heard Michael's idea I thought it was blasphemous and ridiculous. We are already many. It would be wrong of us to become more.

Yet little birds continued to whisper about the idea as time went on and it became less and less of a joke.

I believe in the power of the dream speak and believe it would help us all to be more connected to it. Maybe that more than all else convinced me that we should try this grand experiment and see what the Fates have to offer us.

And so, on a cold and quiet night (I am told a night of great significance for many on the outside) a being was created.

The Great Spirits must approve as they have seen fit to gift this young girl with many beautiful things. A healthy body, a strong voice, a curious nature and a capacity to give and accept love in unlimited amounts.

She is still tiny and in need of all our care and nurturing, but even in her infancy she is showing her power and force. She knows already that she can reach for and get what she wants and needs and also that there are many (inside and out) that love her and will always be there to help her.

I don't presume to guess or know what the future holds for me, let alone this lovely new being in the Universe, but I know her life will be rich and special and that she is very welcome.

Our wish is that she will be able to do what so many others have tried and failed at... that is to sleep and dream and connect us with our past and future in the other realms.

I wonder many times when I look at her just which of the Spirits has chosen her. I know she will find out soon enough and I hope I can be strong in guiding her in how to use and appreciate the great gifts they bestow on us every day.

I heard a loon cry on the morning of her birth and I wonder if that might not be a sign and an answer to my questions.

Loon is the awakener of old hopes and the bearer of strong dreams. What could be more appropriate?

And yet I see in her life the influence of Dolphin and Frog (her early and fluent use of her voice and her love of water), Cat (her independence and curiosity), Deer (her innocence and ability to calm and gentle those around her) and even Porcupine (her continual sense of wonder and joy in the world).

Maybe she is one of the lucky few destined to be watched over by many in the spirit world just as she will be cared for by many in the Community of this body.

It is my joy and privilege to share my home with Emma Sylvie in these first days of her new life with us. She brings me great joy and I am confidant that it will continue for many, many years to come.

May you find enlightenment and peace in what I have said and may you bring great honour to your Spirit guides by simply living your lives to their fullest each day.
